For Jon Almen, turning wrenches has always been a lifelong passion. His love for mechanics began early when, at just 14 years old, he rebuilt his first engine with the help of a neighbor. That hands-on experience lit a spark that would shape his future.


Jon spent nearly a decade working as both a mechanic and a fleet manager in Kingsport, TN, building not only his technical skills but also a reputation for reliability and attention to detail. After the events of 9/11, Jon felt compelled to serve his community in a new way, and he became a firefighter. Even while protecting lives, his love for repairing vehicles never faded.


As Jon’s family grew, he began working on cars and trucks in his carport during off-duty hours to supplement his income. Word spread quickly. In 2010, Jon made the leap from side project to full-time business, officially launching Almen Enterprises.


Almen Enterprises’ quality workmanship, honest communication, and dependable service drew in customers from across the area. Today, Almen Enterprises has two great locations in Kingsport, TN, and Johnson City, TN. 


Additionally, Almen Enterprises Towing, a sister company, was established in 2020 to provide 24/7 towing and recovery services for personal vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, and large equipment. This addition ensured that customers could count on Almen Enterprises for help from the very first moment of trouble to the final repair.
